Who Are the Biggest Bitcoin Holders

6.7% of the current circulation of Bitcoin (roughly USD9.8 billion) is held on exchange wallets. Eight exchanges, including Kraken, Bitstamp and Binance, have been constantly increasing their bitcoin trades over the past two years. The biggest bitcoin holders have unbroken faith in demand, and they increase their share regardless of market conditions.

Although we still don’t know who the anonymous creator of Bitcoin is, we do know that he or she is one of the largest Bitcoin holders, with one million BTC (4.76% of the 21 million coins that will ever be mined).


TYLER AND CAMERON WINKLEVOSS

In 2013, the Winklevoss twins claimed that they held 1% of circulating bitcoin. However, it’s very likely that they hold even more now.


BARRY SILBERT

Crypto king Barry Silbert is also the CEO and founder of Digital Currency Group, which not only builds and supports bitcoin and blockchain companies, but also owns some other major assets. These include news outlet CoinDesk and over 100 companies dealing with Bitcoin, including Grayscale. Forbes estimated Silbert’s crypto assets to be between USD400-500 million in 2018.
