The Dollar Wrecking Ball: Why is a strong US dollar so dangerous?
The rising US dollar strength is starting to produce cracks across economies and markets.
Teams of American National Football League (NFL) are under pressure to pay its players in bitcoin, but so far they haven't budged. It remains unclear, why they would push back against the new strategy, which would not only reduce organization costs, but at the same time would give players the opportunity to begin saving and growing their earnings before retirement. We are having here quite interesting case from the NFL environment.
Russel Okung, famous NFL player, belongs among “bitcoiners” who play in the league. The Los Angeles Chargers Left Tackle posted request on Twitter to get paychecks in crypto and hasn't stopped since then.
“How dope would it be to see an ESPN headline with an athlete being paid in BTC?” he asked in one of his tweets.
In another one, he was searching for places where cryptocurrencies are traded. One of his followers recommended him Bittrex and it didn't take long for the bitcoin exchange to respond: “Hi Russell – great to connect with you! We’d love to introduce you to Bittrex. Feel free to reach out to us via DM.” Another company called Trezor, which develops hardware wallets, didn't let the opportunity to pass by them either and reminded Russel, he would need a secure wallet and offered him help in this matter immediately.
Russel also tweeted after being introduced to Bitcoin he is sharing the Bitcoin gospel with his NFL peers so it won't be long until the word spreads throughout the league. NFL commissioners shouldn't hesitate too long and simply comply with the suggestions.
